Applicants interested in the HHMI-NIBIB Interfaces Scholars Program should apply to the PhD program within the Department of Bioengineering at Penn.
It is best to indicate your interest in the program via the following ways:
- Check “I’m interested in the HHMI-NIBIB Interfaces Scholars Program” on your application.
- Describe your interest in the program in your Personal Statement.
- Mention any faculty whose work interests you in your Personal Statement.
The most important advice to applicants is to carefully consider the program curriculum and the Department’s faculty. Students have the opportunity to work with any faculty member within the Bioengineering Graduate Group. While there are many great faculty in medical imaging at Penn, keep in mind that some students elect to do imaging research in microscopy, thus broadening the list of potential advisors even further!
